Team 2 performed to the Hippo Song and Good Time for the prize giving at the end of the year.  Here are some of the good times that Room 7 have enjoyed in 2012.

End of term 3

As we are coming to the end of Term 3 Room 7 have been reflecting on what they have learned during writing and setting new goals for next term.  If you think they have done a really good job or can think of a way they can achieve their goal please leave them a comment on the blog.

Team 2 Spelling Bee

All the children in Team 2 have been practising their spelling all year in preparation for the Spelling Bee.  We started with the top 4 spellers in each class. Mr Jacobsen MC'd for us.  All the children were excited but very nervous.  Have a look to see who our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners were.

Room 7 learning to count

Room 7 have been having lots of fun learning how to use the te rakau sticks to count.

Beautiful Maori singing

The children have been learning lots of songs in Maori.  If you know this one sing along. If you don't copy after them as each line is repeated.  Let them know if you learnt it!

Butterfly Creek Pictures

In term one we went to Butterfly Creek to see the butterflies and crocodiles.  Have a look at our amazing pictures with so many details.

The children have chosen their favourite work from Term 2 so far.  During this time they have been writing about the Immersion Assembly for Art Alive, writing about sunflowers and about their fitness activity called Jack Fly away.  If you want to know how to play Jack Fly Away send them a comment.

Welcome to Room 7

Day and Night class movie

Room 7 have been learning about day and night. They have been making sun dials, watching the shadows and seeing where the sun is in the sky and different times of day. Some children have even made their own class movie, with support.

Room 7 have been learning all about day and night. Watch their animations of night becoming day, and listen to their explanations. Are they right? If not let them know. If so let them know how good they are.

Room 7 have been learning about the solar system this term. To help them remember the names and some important facts they tried different ways. Have a watch and listen and you might learn something new too.

Term 3 various

Phew! Room 7 have been really busy in Term 3. They have been learning how to play Aussie Rules and Ripper Rugby, the skills needed to go from Small Black to Tall Black. They have also been learning Fire Safety, how your respiratory system works and of course all about Rugby World Cup. The children were asked to choose their favourite piece of work so you can all hear what we have been up to!

Room 7 goals for Term 3

All the children in Room 7 listened to their goals at the end of Term 1 and tried to fix them up. They have been working really hard and nearly everybody has achieved their goals. The children have now set new goals for Term 3. Have a listen and if you have found a really good way to achieve a goal leave your advise in a comment on our Blog. We would love to hear from you.

Room 7 have been learning about why and how we recycle, all term. They have developed a new recycling system, asked buddy classes to test out their ideas and even presented their ideas to Mr Burt. Here they show you in graphic form how to recycle your rubbish.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle movie

Room 7 have been learning what we need to do to make our world a better place. They have been sorting the rubbish from the bin for recycling so it won't end up in the landfill.

Visy Recycling

The focus for Term 2 is how to make things Bigger, Better, Stronger or Faster. In Team 2 we are focussing on how we can make our world a better place to live in by recycling. We will also be designing, creating and evaluating an item that we have made from recycled rubbish. As part of this focus we visited the Visy Recycling plant. Have a listen to what the children saw at the recycling plant.
